Welcome, Liam!

On Tuesday, my brother and his wife (Blog Snails and Puppy Tails) welcomed baby boy # 2 to the world. Liam Richard Sheehy-Perry is 7 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. He was early and is currently in the NICU. But he is improving and we hope he will be home soon. Please keep them in your prayers.

UPDATE: Liam was able to go home on Saturday. We are all happy he is home!

18 months

It is hard to believe that it has been a year and a half! Lily is 18 months today. And watching her grow every day from a baby into a person is amazing. Her favorite game is running from you and laughing when you call her. She also loves to dress up, as you can see here. She is definitely a girly girl. We haven't gone in for her 18 month check up yet, but I think she weighs about 18 lbs.

My favorite sweater

Words can not describe how much I love this sweater. It's from Children's Place and it so soft. I bought is second hand for Jena in anticipation of our trip to Nebraska the winter before she turned one. It was too big for her, but I didn't yet know how to gage how slow/fast my shrimpy kids would grow. It was really her only sweater that year since we lived in Georgia and a long sleeve shirt would do 90% of the time. It fit Lily perfect this winter and since it has been so cold she gets lots of use out of it. One of her teachers recently complemented me on it, thinking it was new. She was shocked when I told her I bought it used for Jena 3 years ago. I have to say I LOVE the clothes from Children's Place. They are affordable and good quality. And it is one of the few places I can get jeans to fit my skinny girls.

A life time of tea parties

When we bought the bunk beds Jena found this table. I have wanted to get something like this for awhile but I had a hard time selling Roger on it. We managed to wear him down and it came home with us. They both LOVE this table. It moves all over the house to accommodate their many tea parties as well as actual meals. They are just so cute setting up tea parties with their dolls and stuffed animals! And I do mean THEIR, Lily plays with it just as much as Jena.

Winter in the South

I lived in the south off and on for 20 years now. I've adjusted to the weather and can understand why people don't like the cold when it is unseasonably cold like this year. I still do not understand why we shut down at the thought of snow. Cumberland county is on a two hour delay tomorrow because we are supposed to get an inch of snow. An INCH! I used to walk to school in a foot of snow (uphill, Both ways!) This means our little preschool is closed since we only go half days. My kids will be home, ALL DAY! I only two morning a week to myself, and now I only have one. This happened last year. Once for real snow. And once for what I called the No Snow snow day. So, since misery loves company, I invited over some other friends in the same predicament. At least we can go crazy together.

Bunk Beds!

Almost two years ago (but it seems like yesterday) Jena moved from a crib to a big girl bed. Today they delivered her bunk beds. When did she get so big?

She, of course, raced straight to the top.

We've been talking about bunk beds for awhile. Jena has wanted them since we went to the beach this summer and there were some in her room. Since we are moving this summer and we are not sure what kind of house we will end up in, we decided it was time for a trip to Frank's Furniture in Lumberton. Now if we end up with a smaller house, the girls can share a room. Jena told me a bed time the bottom bunk is Lily's, for when she is older.

Fit for a Princess or two...

Jena was very excited to help.

Of course, Daddy did all the hard work. He made the entire thing from scratch, no kit here!

What could it be?

A wardrobe fit for a princess (or two)!

Christmas Day

Santa came! He left a lot of good stuff. High lights: Princess Castle and Train!

Behold the orgy of greed. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and that Santa was good to you too!

Princess and the Frog

Right after we moved to Fayetteville, Roger and I took Jena (17 months at the time) to the Harry Potter movie. It was a disaster and we did not take her to any more movies. Last spring they announced the newest Disney Princess movie, The Princess and the Frog. Jena was very excited and asked if we could go get the DVD. Poor kid thought all movies were on DVD. So we explained movie theaters to her and that the movie wasn't coming out until Christmas.

Well, Christmas came! While we were in Augusta, Jena and I went to see The Princess and The Frog. ON THE BIG SCREEN! So exciting!

Roger dropped us off and kept Lily so Jena and I could go just us Big Girls! It was a great day!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve in North Augusta at Roger's aunt and uncle's house. There was pretty good crowd there and lots of great food. We were glad to have one more Christmas in GA/SC just in case we move away from the East Coast this summer.
